Isn't it weird when video game series change their names rather suddenly?
Like how the Colin McRae games became Dirt in 2007. (Granted, using Mr. McRae's name after that would probably seem tacky and disrespectful, so it's clear why, but still.)
That's... weird. They apparently didn't get rid of McRae's name officially until last year with DiRT 3.
Personally I wouldn't have kept the name around at all after the first DiRT (it was the last one they made before McRae died) but maybe they did it for memorial reasons. -shrug-

I get obsessed with things I haven't played/watched/read all the time.

I kinda want to find a Bubbles avatar but I don't know if PPG's art style would translate well to avatar size

It's hilarious to me that I can't think of anything non-pony that I associate with Naney.
^ I misread that as "shitty desktops" and I was gonna be like "oh, you're a Unity developer?" :P
Yeah, I used Unity for all of 3 days before deciding "FRAK IT, GNOME!".
Gnome 3 wasn't great or terrible but it served me well. By far my favorite window manage would have to be Xfce. Lubuntu would've been nice if I used it I guess but Xfce is so much prettier~.

GNOME 3 has grown on me, for the most part, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to see what windows I have open without clicking on that dumbass "Activities" panel and seeing a list of all of them.
I mean, there's gotta be something else, right? I refuse to believe that any UI designer is dumb enough to throw out a fully functional taskbar (which requires only one click to switch windows) in favor of a screen showing all your windows as little thumbnails (requiring two clicks, one to open the Activities screen and one to click a window).

I personally just used my Windows key to get to that.

That's...a little better, I guess? I still would prefer a true taskbar, though.
Honestly I think the basic Windows 95-style taskbar was one of the few things Microsoft came up with that's still worth copying to this day.
Also stuff like that is one of the reasons I stay away from any OS that's not Windows-something. I know it limits my options and such, but I prefer to stick to things I know how to use in that department. :/
Lazuli: Sounds like my mom. She'll get totally lost if she's not running something Windows-ish. That and several of the programs she insists on using (oh hai there, AOL Classic) don't work in Linux and most likely don't even have Mac versions, either. The only Linux device she has is her Droid Incredible, but that arguably doesn't count.
I find most technology a headache, so I've steered well clear of Linux.
That said, I found using a Mac fairly intuitive, so maybe I wouldn't find Linux so difficult. I suspect it would be more trouble than it's worth for me though.
As much as I wanted to like Mac OS X, I've found Apple's shenanigans since 2006 way too difficult to put up with. That and in 2006 they were at least trying to be competitive with PCs; now they fancy themselves a Rolls-Royce or a Bentley in a world full of Fords and Chevys and Toyotas, and that's not cool, man. Even trying to be Mercedes or BMW would be less douchey, guys. :P
That and yeah, the keyboard shortcuts and design cues are different only because they have 30 years of people that will gut them alive if they change them. Even Linux, as clunky as it can be sometimes, at least obeys the traditional PC mappings for things unless you tell it otherwise.

Also a kind of geek. It more-or-less means a big enthusiast in something most people find uninteresting, such as road signs or supermarkets.
I think the name comes from the stereotype of standing out in the rain wearing an anorak while birdwatching or trainspotting.
Also,
Best mod ever.
Quick, what's the most manly, heterosexual, grimdark and cynical thing in the world?
EDIT: Oh, that Metro-wannabe the Ubuntu devs cooked up. It's all good, then.
Shiro. She's better than ponies.
Taskbars are helpful.

Well, call me a traditionalist if you wanna.
I've used Mac before and I hate it. Because to me it's totally unintuitive, and I've used Linux for a few things before too, which is even worse.
