Does MLP:FIM really smack of a '90s show to people? My mind keeps thinking 101 Dalmatians: The Series is like it, in a way, which is probably me stretching for comparisons.
Though Avatar: The Last Airbender reminds me of it too, maybe I'm just obsessed with MLP:FIM.
It's a style of death metal that focusses more heavily on creating an atmosphere than regular death metal, which focusses more on technical complexity. (*Not saying that atmospheric death metal can't be technical, just that that isn't the point*)

One day Twilight Sparkle finally comprehended that she was more powerful than anyone in Equestria, except maybe the princesses, and that she could easily use her powers to get complete control any place not under Celestia's command. So she went to The City of Townsville. After using her unicorn magic to turn the mayor into a sea sponge, Twilight declared herself Supreme Ruler of Townsville and turned every citizen into a pony.
The citizens of Townsville didn't like that, so The Powerpuff Fillies tried to stop Twilight. But instead she just paid them to do security detail for her huge palace, which contained the entire collection of what had been Townsville Public Library.
Then Twilight and Bubbles went to Max & Erma's with some kid from Dimmsdale, who said "you know, Twi, I know a thing or two about magic as well." He refused to elaborate on that, though, because something he called "Da Rules" wouldn't let him. I guess he signed a non-disclosure agreement or something? I dunno.
