so I've already done some stuff for a sepia empire. Most of it is old material I'm re-purposing for this album and I'm not sure how much of it will stick, but whatever.

How old is that can? The typeface for "PORK BRAINS" looks rather 70s-80s (with its rounded serifs and fat curves), and I don't remember The Dial Corporation using that logo.

That particular image has been circulating the net for at least 12 years by now. I wouldn't doubt that this is still the packaging that Dial still uses for this product, as (IIRC) it's marketed only in the lower southeastern states and as you can imagine, the consumers of this particular delicacy aren't going to be enticed or deterred by whatever packaging they use.

Also, you can pretty give the packaging there a relatively accurate date by the nutrition info on the back which to me still looks pretty contemporary.

Oh I'm an idiot. It's not a spectrascope, it's whatever the hell that device is called that displays soundwaves or something. Somebody here was talking about a dude putting an image of his cat in his album music that way a few days ago.
That would be Aphex Twin, but his embedding of his own face (that is in fact, a picture of him. Though I imagine it's been altered in some way) into "Mathematical Equation" is pretty well known, I think.

You need to figure out a way to insert pictures so they show up on spectrascope. I'm sure I've even seen an app a few years ago that does just that
