I have moved up to Novus Computador.  A Windows 98.

Presently, I'm on my dad's mobile.

I'm not sure exactly what AdBlock is, but I assume it is an advertisement blocker.

I don't know how that would change avatars.

bRaHiAn's avatar doesn't bother me, I just, well, don't want my parents looking over my shoulder and asking me why there is a jutting posterior and one of the 101 dalmatians.

AdBlock, at least on some browsers, lets you block more or less any image you want.

Anyway I'm not sure that'd actually work for the avatars here.

People would think I'm weird for using an avatar of Cadpig?
  • edited 2014-12-09 03:00:26
    I don't think you're weird.

If anything, Cadpig as an avatar makes you look very distinctive, which is what avatars ought to do.

    No.

What they're wondering is why a picture of an extruding unmentionables is in the same context as an image from children's entertainment.

When I wrote that post, the only posters on this page were you and bRaHiAn.

My adblocker is capable of blocking out avatars, but it appears I'd need to do each on individually. There's probably a way to block all of them at once without doing that, but I only spent about 5 seconds trying to do it. I use this adblocker.
  • edited 2014-12-09 03:05:33
    Spoiler:
Now, before you get all up in arms about what I just posted, yes, it does make for a _distinctive_ avatar.

Note that I made no mention whatsoever of whether dave's ass is a good ethical choice for an avatar.

I am temporarily ignoring/evading that question.  Intentionally.

Mathematician's answers and question evading is fun :D

    I do this frequently.

Stop complaining about me not expressing righteous indignation at things.

My parents do, in fact, remember the nineties shows of my brother's youth by eyesight, but not by name.  They'd know that, say, Snarf was from "that one show with fighting cats" while Battle cat was from "He-man the barbarian".

My brother got to see all the good shows, but he time I was old enough
to like saturday morning cartoons we didn't have any of the good
    channels.

Our videotape of Toy Story has a commercial for 101
Dalmations: The Series on it; as well as The Goliath Chronicles, Brand
Spanking New Doug, and Pepper Ann.  I watched that movie pretty often in
my younger years.  THat's probably where they are aware of 101 from.

    without the space.

Yeah, every line of that string of commercials I still remember.

I also remember, from a different video, the, "waterpets" song.
  • The Shameimaru person started climbing with a full-speed
dash, so I got hooked in and tried climbing at a run too. The Yuyu-sama
person was exhausted after climbing about halfway.

    I stopped
running along the way too, but when I got the Shameimaru-person, who'd
climbed on ahead, to show me a picture she'd taken of me, my face looked
like that of the recently resigned Pope.

    That Kyubey-like jerk. :-)

That's for ABC's Saturday morning lineup from the season after Disney took control of the network (1996-97); 101 was still in production and not nearly ready then, and the lineup hadn't yet taken the name "One Saturday Morning".

Fun fact: Part of the reason that Disney bought ABC was because ABC was involved in a TV production joint venture with DreamWorks SKG; the "K" is for Jeffrey Katzenberg, the former Disney executive with whom Michael Eisner had had a falling out.

ABC and DreamWorks' joint venture also called for DreamWorks to produce Saturday morning cartoons for the network. Disney of course voided that.

Aw man, I could have sworn that I once had a Disney VHS that had a One Saturday Morning promo on it and I can't remember what it was. It may well have been a Masterpiece Collection reissue of something...
