it was a catholic school and our dress code was strict enough that if your facial hair was too prominent you'd be sent to the nurse's office to be shaved.
Man I went to Catholic school and as long as it wasn't profane they gave zero shits.

my understanding from talking to other people who came up in similar environs is that how strict a Catholic school is depends a lot on who is running it
ours was a Sisters of Mercy school, and they are strict as fuck, and abide by the idea that, ideally, everyone who exits a Catholic school should eventually become a priest or nun.

It's not Jesuit level, but it's pretty harsh.
Oh damn. Sisters of Mercy have been investigated for child abuse pretty often in the last couple decades.
^^ Like...I know that's probably fish-eyed to hell and back to make the dress pattern more visible (and it is very pretty). But good lord, I can't be the only one who sees that and thinks this:
There's really not that much space between the ribcage and the hips.
Let's put it this way. The usual reference for figure drawing is that a person is generally about 7 to 7 1/2 heads tall. For stuff like ancient gods and superheroes, 8 1/2 is pushing it, and 9 looks ridiculous. I played around with that image some more and that lady is almost 10 heads tall, while standing with a noticeably wide stance.
Looking at the proportions of the forearm, there does seem to be a fisheye effect at work to emphasise the pattern on the middle part of the dress. That said, she is probably a pretty tall woman with long legs to begin with, so the distortion might not be quite so extreme as it appears.

it's also a CLAMP production, they draw everyone like that.
