Disney owns Maker Studios, the producer of ERB (though ironically prior to Disney's acquisition of Maker, ABC Warner's predecessor company Time Warner owned a stake in Maker)
  • god it feels nice to refer to Time Warner in the past tense, even if I did make this up

pls go away real Time Warner (and not into the maw of anyone I hate)

    BEWARE OF GRRL!
Now I'm remembering how people act like like Disney owns "everything" although their strategy of milking the fuck out of Marvel and Star Wars is probably going to burn itself out within the next decade

But for now, they look scary
  • Unless someone less adept at strategy than Bob Iger takes his place they'll probably find a way to pivot into a different strategy though once milking the fuck out of the same handful of IPs stops working
  • My dreams exceed my real life

instead of "this is what the next few years of your life looks like" i wish they had written "if you are a person who likes superhero movies, get hype"

i feel this is what they probably intended to convey
  • It'll be interesting to see how that image compares with what actually ends up happening over the next few years, considering that Disney already started shifting the plans around a ton c/of the Sony-Spidey deal.
  • also Fantastic Four bombing
  • image Wee yea erra chs hymmnos mea.
The true endgame of capitalism. (Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth Greed Mode spoilers)

the more fanatical fans are, the more readily and reliably they will purchase your #content, no matter what its quality is.
Writing that sort of thing doesn't guarantee fanaticism but it creates this image that Liking Stuff follows that pattern [naturally].
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
I really hope that the Sandman and Deadpool movies are actually good, but I also really hope that they don't turn into franchise quagmires.

Also, given how badly Raimi fucked up Venom, I'm... torn about the prospect of a movie revolving around the symbionts.

What's this about a Sandman movie?

Look at the bottom of the chart.

By the way: We need a Doom Patrol animated series based on the Morrison/Pollack years and maybe continuing where the Giffen series left off. With art direction straight out of the labyrinth scenes in Madoka Magica.

    Just putting that out there.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.

I feel the same way about the Shazam movie, myself.

also, for anyone who cares, here's an updated version of that chart:

  • tentative prediction: the Gambit movie will be astoundingly bad

Even worse than Fantastic Four 2: Yes, Again (if that comes out)?

We can do anything if we do it together.
My own prediction is that the only film on that chart I will ever see is The Incredibles 2.

    I hope I am right.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
what if any of the others are good?
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.

Ahhhhh. I hope the Sandman movie is good too. I would've said it about the Deadpool movie too, but I don't have a lot of hope for it. If I'm wrong and it turns out to be good, I'll be pleasantly surprised.
