Encyclopedia knew Bugs Meany was lying. He told the detective, "I didn't steal Ricky's DVD."

That was Bugs's mistake! He couldn't possibly have not stolen the DVD, when in fact he stole the DVD!

When faced with this evidence, Bugs confessed. He had shoved 5-year-old Ricky off the cliff and taken his VeggieTales DVD. Bugs returned the DVD and paid Ricky's medical bills.
