I think the Justice League cartoon was the first thing Friday and I watched "together" (together, in this case, required web-cams, microphones, and pretty decent timing).

Admittedly I used a very loose definition of "together", which basically meant we turned on Boomerang at the same time and commented on the show in the Trash Heap thread.
1991 was the year I headed off to college, making this a pretty formative time. The internets. The web. Linux being born, messily. Text MUDs, fuck yeah. Generally hosted in Scandinavia somewhere and with lag times in the hundreds of milliseconds on a good day.

The's pretty much textbook nostalgia for me, the way I described. The reality of what we have now is simply worlds better, but it sure is the sort of thing you could imagine an old person waxing poetically about as if it was a golden age long past.
