I'm not sure if this is what you're going for, but I've noticed something about your streams (the albeit few streams I've seen), which is that it seems like the focus of the stream is the conversation more so than the game itself.
Sometimes I wonder if being distracted by the conversation makes you make "rookie mistakes" in the gameplay -- which I don't really see in, say, Indie Bazaar videos, where presumably you are more focused on the game.
As a person who's usually more interested in the gameplay (and after all, your headline for the stream IS the game), I feel a little disappointed. Now if this is the direction you wanted to go with the stream, that's fine, but I figured you might like to be aware of this.
(Also if you're looking for uplifting magical girl stories, try Nanoha.)

i tend to aim for about 75-25 in terms of talking about the game and just talking about whatever
glad you're enjoying the VOD. I probably should've told you when I went live but I forgot to, this weeks streams were unusually hectic in how they came together
FYI the music from the cow level is from Super Mario RPG
the little birds are called ravens and debuted in Yoshi's Island for SNES
the ice mushroom as far as I know debuted in NSMB for DS
the bombs and the bombable blocks and the whole picking-things-up mechanic and the whole pulling-things-out-of-the-ground mechanic are from Super Mario Bros. 2 a.k.a. Super Mario Bros. USA a.k.a. that game that's basically an official romhack of Doki Doki Panic.
thanks for playing this game on your stream and thanks to imicow for making it!
i just noticed that the lava in this game doesn't obey super mario world lava properties -- the top block height worth of the lava is really lava and not just a last warning
Also I just noticed that there is a slight delay to your voice compared to the video feed. This is based on listening to you singing the SMW "Athletic" theme.
It's not big enough to really be a problem, just something noticeable.
I also noticed this game engine respects the SMB1 manual which says that enemies can jump over shells when you're not looking, but they will still rebound off of offscreen walls.
Anyway at this point I almost don't want to watch further because I kinda wanna play this game myself~
the eyeball boss in "Hilly Romp" is from Demon's Crest if you talk to the Parday Bus repeatedly you can get different backgrounds the library theme is indeed "Locked Girl" and the background is from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Yoshi is indeed in this game, just not until later.

Psychedelic Squid Island's music is indeed an original composition.
None of the levels have time limits, because SMBX doesn't support it.
I laughed at you telling Mario not to deadname people. It does make you an ass

The bombs are from Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA).
the "locks" in "Docks and Locks" actually refers to these
