We can do anything if we do it together.
Because everyone who's tackled Batman so far has been a very self-indulgent director who by the end of their run with the character were successful enough that they didn't need to control their indulgences anymore.

I suspect that Ben Affleck's run on Batman will end up the same way.

But Batman Returns and Batman and Robin were the last films of those directors, not the first one???????
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Self-indulgence can still lead to good results sometimes.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
the first Burton Batman is fine.

the real problem is that superheroes are lame

Does this mean that any follow-up to The LEGO Movie done by Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be a worse Batman movie than that one?
  • Sup bitches, witches, Haters, and trolls.

honestly, lego movie as a whole will be hard to top, so

I'm terrified that WB is gonna WB up its follow-ups (that means turning them into hollow cash grabs! They're even WB-ing up fucking Archie, ask Section)

well, by all accounts The LEGO Movie looked like a hollow cash grab until the movie itself came out, but Lord/Miller managed to make it into an actually amazing movie, and I haven't seen 21/22 Jump Street but it seems they have the same property, so the sequel will probably not be one as long as they're working on it.

They're making a bunch of spinoff movies. LEGO Batman, a Ninjago movie, neither of those involve Lord/Miller.

When will they just make LEGO Scooby-Doo Meets Batman, Featuring Tom and Jerry and Some Hanna-Barbera Character You Forgot Existed?
  • Sup bitches, witches, Haters, and trolls.
oh.  those might be fucked then.  depends on if the people making them give a shit, really
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Lego has pretty high quality control standards as a company. I doubt they'll let this suck. They are Danish and meticulous.

Hopefully. Because Warner Bros. is really stupid

Not as much as Sony, but still
  • Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
There are no good Batman movies.

Not even Mask of the Phantasm? (It's on my To-Watch LIst)

    That was merely okay.

Batman Beyond doesn't count because it's barely Batman, but I still love it.
  • Splat Charger Specialist
Return of the Joker was rad.
