    Zillions of settings, menus and parameters; simple interface that is somehow also visually confusing; lots of big colourful buttons.

    I hate dials on any VST because they don't make any damn sense.

    Yes let me turn this dial by moving my mouse down, this is how a dial works.

    You mean up, right? Most dials I have dealt with at least are "up=up."

    Although sliders are probably preferable.

    Yeah, or a mode selector or left-right pan or whatever.

    Speaking of which, being able to control the pan range of a sound is really nifty.

    It's at least visually interesting, which is more than I can say for a lot of user-friendly and practical design these days.
    I guess the thing is whether you want a computer to look at, or a computer to use.

    I'm pretty sure I'd rather the computer I spent hundreds of dollars on to be the latter.  Especially since it can give the full enjoyment of the former by loading a gif.
