Why '90s Kids™ fawn over Nickelodeon so much?

Retrospect has revealed that Nickelodeon had no soul, even if they did serve up good stuff while masking their soullessness

    The Fred/Alan and early Nicktoons eras were excellent. SpongeBob was the beginning of the end, sadly.

    And besides, before Cartoon Network went live in 1992, there were very few places where you could gorge on on obscure kids' shows outside of Nick. The Cartoon Express was still around, sure, but who wanted to wake up that early on a Sunday to catch it?

    the nice thing about camp snoopy was that it was like, subtle, y'know? there were peanuts characters here and there, but mostly it just had this nice woodsy sort of theme AND NOW LOOK

    im not really that mad, but im still kinda mad about how ugly it is

    even kid me was upset by the ugliness of nickelodeon and now that ugliness is all over what i thought was a pretty nice thing

    Interestingly enough, the opposite happened at Kings Island...they replaced Nickelodeon Central/Nickelodeon Universe with Planet Snoopy!

    Of course, Nickelodeon Universe itself replaced the original Hanna-Barbera Land, which I'm sure AU isn't happy about...

    Fred/Alan chose orange as Nick's color because it generally clashed with everything

    Also I admit the Nicktoon characters never looked "right" together because unlike, say, Hanna-Barbera, there was no house style or attempt to enforce one
