And while it's largely for the best, I feel its relative absence from my life is bad somehow. I felt like The Industry was somehow better than normal society. That being part of it made one superior. I know it's actually shit if you're a creative type but still.

    I feel like what you're looking for is primarily a sense of community, and I feel like you're looking in the wrong place, ie. here.

    Not too many people here care about a lot of the things you're interested in--the finer points of mergers, 101 Dalmations, that kind of thing--and while that's totally fine, I feel like maybe you should seek out some other websites too if you're looking for that communal experience.
