  • I actually still have the entire American Idiot album in my attic somewhere.
  • You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
    Were you teenage Centie?

Did teenage Centie sing Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Somewhere I Belong ad nauseum because they identified with them?

I, uh, plead the fifth on that one
  • of these, I'd say only Limp Bizkit, Nickelback, and MSI were actually bad
  • showing you how unorthodox I am, I associate Simple Plan with What's New, Scooby-Doo?

Fall Out Boy's just sort of average-mediocre and Linkin Park got way better as time went on
  • I will say Mike Shenoda's solo work is miles ahead of anything Linkin Park ever did

  • I do like some of FOB's stuff, by the by
  • showing you how unorthodox I am, I associate Simple Plan with What's New, Scooby-Doo?
Hey, that theme. I actually liked it.

  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
"Basket Case" is the best Green Day song

shit bands i liked as an angry teen:

    * Rammstein

    * Pendulum

    * Later KMFDM

    * Combichrist
  • "Basket Case" is the best Green Day song

  • Say what you will about mashups as a medium, but DJ Pegasus is brilliant.
  • as is Madeon, but you know

    :(
  • Hey, Combichrist and Rammstein have their moments.  They ain't deep, but I wouldn't class them as "shit", personally :D

  • why does rammstein need like 3 guitarists to play one incredibly monotonous riff for 4 minutes straight

at least goofy deathcore bands have changes in tempo and breakdowns and blast beats to prop up their endless chugging
  • Rammstein is a band I can tell you nothing about, but I can tell you plenty of things about the kind of person who is proud to be  Rammstein fan
  • The Mysterious Ballerina and her Tree Stump Ghosts
I think I need to clean up my mp3 player

I have songs and albums on that from when I was 14

One of these days someone's gonna see that and mistake 14 year old me for 24 year old me
  • My dreams exceed my real life
Rammstein was in a David Lynch movie once.
  • Vampire Lady of Corvidia

    (The other Jane)
In my teenage years I exclusively listened to classical music. I had a friend who also listened to Rammstein. He turned out to be a manipulative asshole.
  • i listened to rammstein because it was ZOMG SO HEAVY

once you listen to slam rammstein doesnt sound very heavy
  • My dreams exceed my real life
I feel outcast on this forum, because I am not into underground avant-garde doom death screamo grindcore trap mixtapes.

nah hybrid theory was the only album of theirs i really listened to

agreed on green day and pendulum

i would add the killers, and the darkness to that list, also
  • combichrist were so incredibly bad
  • i didn't like them even as an edgy teenager with a lot of goth friends
  • oh and Muse who i sincerely loved from about 14-17 and they are very bad.
  • who names their band the darkness
  • My dreams exceed my real life
The Darkness had a Christmas song I liked.

That is all I know about The Darknesss.

there's this tumblr post that goes like

(*downloads the mcdonalds font and writes "capitalism"*)

muse fan: oh my god oh mygodohmygod
  • My dreams exceed my real life
I am superior to all of you, because I don't bother disliking bands.
  • Good Charlotte was one of the first bands that wasn't a Christian band I listened to. Teenage rebellion, listening in the garage with a friend who introduced them to me so my mom wouldn't hear.
  • The Mysterious Ballerina and her Tree Stump Ghosts
Ever heard a band that doesn't really do anything for you but just makes you think 'wow I wish I heard this when I was 15, 15 year old me would be way into this'

This has happened a lot to me recently. Am I getting old?
  • The Mysterious Ballerina and her Tree Stump Ghosts
Oh yeah, the Darkness' Christmas song.

There's a bunch of bands that I only ever think of in December because they recorded one Christmas song that gets endlessly repeated that time of year. Weird to think of the Darkness becoming one of them, but I guess it was inevitable

We may be getting old, but I usually chuck them onto a playlist and send 'em to the angsty 15 year olds I know.

That is a brilliant idea and as the sister of an angsty 15 year old I'm totally stealing it

  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
I remember being rather dismissive of pop music in general back in the late 1990s and early 2000s....my brother was a big reason, as he listened to a lot of what would now be oldies (70s and 80s pop) and downbeat alt-rock. I didn't really even know what was going on in the pop world again until 2009-2010 and Todd in the Shadows.
  • Oh shit, I forgot my brief Korn phase when I was 12.

    My Angry Teenager Playlist:

    *My Chemical Romance
    *Simple Plan
    *Evanescence
    *Green Day
    *Lady Gaga
    *Avril Lavigne
    *Fall Out Boy
    *Muse

Yeah, I went through the "emo" phase when I was 13/14. I threw in some Lady Gaga to try and convince people that I was not an emo.

Note: Out of the above list, only Simple Plan and Fall Out Boy are not currently on my iPod, but I listen to them on YouTube.

I also had Girls Aloud on my iPod. That's embarrassing.
  • More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
This thread reminds me of things I would rather forget.
