    adults are often stupid in different ways from children, and unfortunately, they seldom grow out of it

    still, there are a lot of things that children don't understand, mostly through inexperience

    there's also the fact that children are physically incapable of reasoning like adults due to their brains not being sufficiently developed

    not that adults always exercise their capacity for reason

    I think children are very capable, otherwise they couldn't do calculus, and some can. :D

    some children are smarter than others... it also depends on age, of course

    but the human brain develops continuously through childhood and the teens, and it's a simple, physical fact that children's brains are relatively unsuited to advanced abstract reasoning, compared to the brains of adults

    and obviously, the younger the child, the less capable they are

    i mean below a certain age they can't even understand object permanence
