While this is pretty bad, I feel as though we're lucky it took this long for every signature to be signed. There's still opportunity to oppose the TPP, as it has to be ratified by every participating nation. The longer this process is drawn out, the more likely it is for the trade deal to collapse anyway. This is a really crucial time for the left to make peace with sensible centrists and throw their collective weight behind opposition to this deal.
In Australia, for instance, the (formerly left wing) Labor party is dissatisfied with the TPP as it currently stands, and will at least argue for further alterations and amendments. The Labor party has plenty of issues (including too substantial a shift to the right), but it's done a pretty good job of keeping the currently ruling (far right) Liberal party in check. It's likely that any version of the TPP ratified in Australia is going to be watered down, and I hope I could say the same of other nations.
Unfortunately, Australia lacks an equivalent of the likes of Sanders or Corbyn, who (given power) are the type to exit or void such deals. Recognising that Corbyn's issue is with TTIP and he has no potential of influencing the TPP.
