Nonary Game: Heap Edition

Overview: The Prisoner's Dilemma with six players and an overarching goal. Requires six players (Which makes Nonary Game a bit of a misnonarymer, ohohohoho). Players are trapped in a warehouse and try to leave with as many people as possible, without taking one player- designated as the killer, whose goal is to escape alone- with them.

Okay, now for some more detail, starting with an explanation of the Prisoner's Dilemma, because after all, Googling this stuff is for chumps./

The Prisoner's Dilemma
Let's say two people, for the sake of argument named Aaron and Bob, have been arrested because the police know at least one of them committed a serious crime, and the other might be an accomplice. They are taken to separate interrogation rooms and told the same thing:

"You have two choices here. You can either accuse the other guy of being the culprit, or you can stay silent. He can do the same. If you both stay silent, you both get six months. If you both betray each other, you both get five years. If you betray him and he stays silent, you walk out of here a free man and he's in prison for ten years. It works the other way around, too."

This creates a chart of four possibilities:

Now, onto the actual game.

Nonary Game: Heap Edition

This version works a little differently. The goal of the game differs depending on if you are a normal player or have been designated as the killer, but either way this version revolves around points. Players are randomly sorted into pairs and solos. Pairs and solos are then put together in groups. Every round, each pair/solo group will elect to either ally with or betray each other for points through private messaging. It works like this:

When the results are posted, all players are reassigned into different pair/solo groups.

All players start out with four points. When a player falls to zero points, that player has died and may not, obviously, participate. If that player is then assigned as a solo, his or her vote will default to Ally When a player reaches nine points, he or she may elect to escape the warehouse, however, this can only be done once. At that time, every player with nine points may escape. 

Making matters more complicated, however, is that one player is designated as the killer, and is secretly trying to escape alone. If the killer manages to escape, but does so with other players, the game is considered a draw. 

If an escape is initiated, there is one final vote. All living players may choose a character who they think is the killer to restrain, and that player may not escape.
