It always through me for a loop that "that that" could be used legitimately in a sentence, but I've naturally arrived to that use numerous times while typing, so there you go.

I tend to use "that" a lot even when it's not really necessary ("Did you know that I'm a princess?"), so usually if I arrive at "that that", I'll try to cut one out and see if it still make sense.

I just think that that's more amusing to me than awkward, so I don't have too much of a problem with it.

I use "that" more than most people because I actually leave it in where most people forget it.

I think it's often unnecessary so I don't always bother with it, but then sometimes I use it twice. I don't really think things through before saying/writing them.
