As for the original stories, haven't read many. But I recall "The Tower of the Elephant" and "Queen of the Black Coast" being good ones.

He's read a great deal of the comics and actually had quite a bit to say about the recent movie.

Which is funny, because he usually something of a "Jake English" when it comes to movies, but his love of the comic won out over many parts.
