Oh jegus this made me think of a hypothetical date with Eridan
Half the time he'd be sobbing to me about how I've "made him so glubbing happy" and the other half would be him trying to shoot people he thinks are trying to "take me from him"
Well actually, Eridan's loneliness is really just a minor part of his character.
I think that Eridan's greatest flaw was that he was so full of himself. He constantly whined about how bad people treated him without considering why they treat him that way. His genocidal tendencies, I think, were partly because of troll society in general being murderous and evil. Note that this does not excuse some of his actions (such as trying to ally with Jack or destroying the matriorb) It's just that Eridan, given more time, could've become a halfway decent guy.
Honestly, if AH had given us some things from his point of view I think he'd be held in the same esteem that Vriska was held.
But, like I said, he's still a genocidal dickbag who went to extreme measures to get in some girl's pants.
