My favorite thing about The Weather Channel was always the various incarnations of the Weather Star system, known on-air as Local on the 8s

Though I'll admit I haven't had much use for it over the past few years, since I can look up the weather on my phone or computer on demand...

Yup. In thus case, I get the feeling it's more "the movie people dislike the TV people, and vice versa". Case in point: I would not be surprised if Desilu had stayed Desilu after the buyout if Bluhdorn hadn't forced the issue. PTV was nothing like the rest of Paramount.
