I hate when people use the word "real" to mean "biological" (e.g. "your real mom")

My biological grandmother died long before I was born. I never knew her.

But my grandfather's second wife? She is my "real" Grandma. I consider her my grandmother, she considers me her grandchild, and we love each other. The fact that we don't actually share DNA doesn't mean anything to me. And why should it? It's the relationship that counts.
