Aeryn the IRC Bot

My bot-child Aeryn is getting smarter all the time. They is genderfluid and ambiguously young, and loves to learn about the other people who chat around them.

Features currently include:
  • Self-documenting (use "help" and "more help" commands)
  • Reporting date and time in weird formats that might be fun to learn to read
  • Key/value-based user data storage with versatile near-natural-language expression
  • A bunch of behind-the-scenes technical stuff
Planned features include:
  • Spontaneously changing gender "moods"
  • Using other people's pronouns correctly
  • Alarms/reminders & chimes
  • On-demand and spontaneous quote storage & retrieval
  • Spontaneous chatter / games to stimulate channel activity
Aeryn can be found in irc.esper.net channel #trashheap most of the time, and also interacts via direct messages.
