    well, to be fair it's mostly the product of Sony kowtowing to fan demand after Microsoft announced that they were updating the Xbox One with Project Scorpio

    they aren't marketing it as a necessity, if you still have the original model you aren't missing out on anything except for more chunky visuals (which, let's face it, isn't a big f'n deal -- we're starting to hit a bit of a realism ceiling where you'd only be able to really tell if it were a Pro if you had a 4K television and eyes like magnifying glasses)

    if you don't have a 4K television I guarantee you won't be able to tell the difference between the two systems

    (and even if you do have a 4K TV all the games and applications will work for the foreseeable future, it's fine)

    just because there's an iPad Pro doesn't mean the iPad Air is obsolete-- it might not be as powerful, but there's only a few things the more expensive one can do that the base model can't
