yeah, that's why it was easy to memorize as a sequence
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
I don't tend to get, like, jokes about calculus and such

But I do appreciate good mathy jokes

Like how WHDH channel 7 and WLVI channel 56 in Boston are commonly owned

    7 and 56

Too bad there's no channel 49 there

is it that 56 is a multiple of 7?

    i'm not seeing the joke
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
    That is the joke

2 cats are on a roof, which one falls off first?

the one with the smaller mu

that's one of those that only really works when spoken, though
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    I like 9 because of Revolution 9
  • revolution 909
  • 909 is a comfy area code
  • i remember when I was little I wished there were an easy hack for remembering which was six and which was nine with my fists like there was for lowercase b and d

six is a darker shade of purple

nine is a lighter shade of blue with a hint of green

i was not a mathy kid.  i liked even numbers best cuz they were easy to divide, whereas multiples of 3 were harder for some reason

i found the 9 times table easy to memorize sequentially (unlike the 7s and 3s), but hard to randomly access (unlike the 5s and 11s)

7 is the hardest to memorize only because it's the one that has no pattern and no error-checking mechanism

with 3, the digits all add up to something else divisible by 3

with 9, the digits all add up to something else divisible by 9

i feel like this is a math joke but i am missing it

because i can't figure out why a smaller arithmetic mean might lead to falling off the roof

maybe it can be conceptualized to look like a narrower or wider base

    i guess

it's more of a physics joke really

You just killed it, Glenn. You took it to 70. How could you.

This, however, was the correct 69th post.
