Oh boy, I remember the sorts of people who listened to oldies stations back in the early 1990s complaining about rappers who used a bunch of samples, and one station liner I heard back in C'ville specifically called out PM Dawn for sampling Spandau Ballet. 

I'm not sure what flavor of "U mad" this is, Boomer or early Gen X.

Oh, and the specific complaint was that "they didn't know how to play [an instrument]". Aside from being racist as all hell when you look at it closely, it's not like Boomers didn't have prefab bands and studio hacks!
