Does anyone actually have a coherent reason for hating mimes?

    I think people make fun of mimes because someone else made fun of mimes and thus it seems like an acceptable target.

    It's basically a meme with no real grounding.

    When I was little I was afraid of becoming a mime, afraid of not being able to talk and getting stuck in invisible boxes.

    I felt bad for mimes as a little kid, until I learned that there were no invisible boxes or ropes, and that mimes simply chose not to tal and could presumably stop being mimes of they felt like it.

    srsly though I don't think anyone actually hates mimes.  They just get a lot of shit for some reason.

    Like, being afraid of clowns seems to actually be a thing.  But I guess mimes just have enough of an invisible wall between them and the audience to preempt that?  Or maybe they're seen as Clowns Lite, so it's easier to make a silly supervillain without accidentally turning them into a genuinely horrifying supervillain?
