It blows my mind how a fucking neuroscientist who can literally spend all day listing cognitive biases and all the biological methods by which people reinforce their own beliefs even in the face of contradictory evidence can be so hilariously self-unaware about his own. To say nothing of his followers.
It's impossible to even imagine in the abstract what it must be like to be that forcefully blind to one's own biases. The very act of attempting to imagine it requires in that moment an open-mindedness and self-awareness that precludes the very thing you're trying to imagine. It can only be observed empirically.
Like, I'm not immune to it -- nobody is. It's just crazy to see it so prominent in one of the people in the world most qualified to diagnose it.

I watched it again last year and it has its moments but it is, not a good movie.
