also i remember as a young particle i got really spooked by a story this old entertainer at Sidmouth folk festival told about a mermaid trying to retrieve her stolen comb, something about it was really eerie

Apparently the Inuyasha lady did a series of linked horror stories about mermaids that are legitimately unsettling and better than most of her more conventional adventure and romance stuff.
