Take a good, close look at the artwork on this card because it is amazing. Thirteen blood lines dripping down the walls. Thirteen logs in the fireplace. Thirteen shards of whatever that is broken on the floor. Thirteen tools hanging above the stove. Thirteen stones in the arch of the fireplace and thirteen stones on the front face of the fireplace that aren’t the arch stones. Thirteen rivets on the barrel. With a higher resolution image of the full artwork, I could confirm thirteen planks of wood on the roof and thirteen planks of wood on the walls. Holy moly that is some good artwork.
Holy carp that card is amazing. I love innistrad for stuff like this. Dark, flavorful gothic horror~ And weird cards that are fun to build decks off of, of course!
I feel like Tamiyo isn't dead (and/or won't stay dead) just because they have to know how disappointed people will be if after asking for her to return for years she turns out to have been killed offscreen. That said, under the circumstances it's hard to imagine that she's exactly going to be the picture of health when she appears.
My guess is that she shows up in Eldritch Moon but is either insane or has been turned into some kind of monster, or both.
It's sort of overshadowed by the main event in this picture (probably why it gets cropped out on the card itself) but it looks like she's fine on the full art of Anguished Unmaking:

Huh, I hadn't seen that. Shows how much attention I'm actually paying. (Not that that picture necessarily rules out her being a zombie, or crazy.)
Also it's kinda weird how much taller she is than Jace. I guess I knew that soratami are supposed to be tall, but there wasn't much art in Kamigawa that showed soratami and humans side by side so it never properly registered.
Also yeah, Memnarch was reprinted recently-ish in Archenemy and couldn't have been if his type line were longer. He's a popular enough card in EDH and such that they probably don't want to remove the option of reprinting him again.
I think just staying as "Wizard" makes sense for Memnarch's "in between the blur of flesh and metal". Not even really a golem, more like a giant brain with spider legs and tiny T-Rex arms.
apparently Relentless Dead is getting a reprint? That's good. I like Relentless Dead. It lets me have zombies. Zombies are good. That's a good card. Zombies. Mmm. Yes.

Also, combining the art, the two instances of 13, the words, and the mana cost gets you...

I guess if they decide Memnarch counts as a golem then that's about the same length as Sen Triplets.

That is what makes him Relentless.
