In my teenage years I exclusively listened to classical music. I had a friend who also listened to Rammstein. He turned out to be a manipulative asshole.
Good Charlotte was one of the first bands that wasn't a Christian band I listened to. Teenage rebellion, listening in the garage with a friend who introduced them to me so my mom wouldn't hear.
The Mysterious Ballerina and her Tree Stump Ghosts
Ever heard a band that doesn't really do anything for you but just makes you think 'wow I wish I heard this when I was 15, 15 year old me would be way into this'
This has happened a lot to me recently. Am I getting old?

Oh yeah, the Darkness' Christmas song.
There's a bunch of bands that I only ever think of in December because they recorded one Christmas song that gets endlessly repeated that time of year. Weird to think of the Darkness becoming one of them, but I guess it was inevitable

We may be getting old, but I usually chuck them onto a playlist and send 'em to the angsty 15 year olds I know.

That is a brilliant idea and as the sister of an angsty 15 year old I'm totally stealing it

I remember being rather dismissive of pop music in general back in the late 1990s and early 2000s....my brother was a big reason, as he listened to a lot of what would now be oldies (70s and 80s pop) and downbeat alt-rock. I didn't really even know what was going on in the pop world again until 2009-2010 and Todd in the Shadows.

at least goofy deathcore bands have changes in tempo and breakdowns and blast beats to prop up their endless chugging
I have songs and albums on that from when I was 14
One of these days someone's gonna see that and mistake 14 year old me for 24 year old me
(The other Jane)
once you listen to slam rammstein doesnt sound very heavy

I hate how massively overrated "Creep" is since Radiohead have other material I think is actually good.
