Respecting the request to keep the specifics private: saying it's complicated, from a moderation perspective anyway, suggests there are circumstances in which it is acceptable to use the website solely to harass and threaten another user. And I think that's a really dangerous precedent to set.

Now, I didn't expect to change anything by posting it, but I do think that information is something someone who has decided to leave because they're feeling unsafe deserves to know.

Nah ppl were kinda getting on her, but it basically went like this: Person A) Brings up their fetish, Person B) Random response to the fetish, Lola saying how she didnt like the fetish in question. Rinse and repeat several times and then ppl did start to jump her. I was just ignoring it all myself, but i dunno. Guess like some of the others, she had to expect she might see some things in that thread she wasn't gonna like but then again it should be ok for her to express her opinions on things as much as anyone else so i dunno,

One thing is for sure, no one shoulda been going after her and harrassing her via pm and such like i heard was happening, but it mighta just been easier for everyone had she just not kept going into that one particular thread if it really bothered her so much.

Lol, guess I am just rambling now. I do not like controversial stuff like that anyways as i tend to want to avoid troubles, but that was my take on how it went down.

Nah, she wasn't harassed over PMs, but after she expressed her discomfort a former troper she did not disclose chatted with her a bit over PMs and convinced her to leave on account of the disreputable nature of the site.

By which I mean "You shouldn't hang with these sickos."

Ahhh thanks for the clarification. See, I knew I messed it up a bit at least. But I do not think most of us who were posting there at the time are sickos, but she certainly is entitled to her opinion.

Anyway, she is definitely entitled to her opinion. She is under no obligation to agree with anything she hears, nor to hang out with people she considers weird.

I am just worried that the site will use it as an acuse to say "See, these creeeeepy, horrrriiible people are driving away decent tropers, let's normalize site even more!"

I don't think it's so much that as much as certain people who found TVT not only creepy, but an actual threat to their safety. You know, despite being a site where very few of the populace have the means or the resources to stalk people to that extent, and where most of the people who were that creepy on the forums had long since been banned.

Not knowing what goes on for moderators only, I suppose it's possible, or that the posts and PMs where sufficiently passive aggressive enough that he didn't notice.

Though the later seems rather far-fetched given the sheer volume of posts...

Well, apparently and according to him, nothing was undealt with.

I personally lack the self-discipline for that kind of thing (I also left for different reasons, but that's not the point).

I admit a lot of it hinges on me deciding to not undo it at some point further down the line, but I feel that getting banned won't help matters. And I just wouldn't feel comfortable at all.

Really? Really. That...I don't know. I mean, I could give you a name and a month, and you could put the name in the "see user's posts" box and ctrl-f for the month, and you'd see exactly what I'm talking about. The worst of it happened in private messages, but it started out in public. The point is, this isn't exactly a thing you can plausibly deny happened.

Which reminds me. Fourier, just in case it didn't come across in PMs: everything else aside, it is seriously awesome that you owned up to your mistakes the way you did.

One of the problems, I see, is that in addition Bobby is the only one who acts like a sort of PR team or something - that is, willing to explain to the ordinary troper exactly what is going on. His honesty is also admirable.

I feel the need to point out here, that in my case at least, PMs were disabled for me until I went onto a sockpuppet account and personally asked Madrugada to reopen them.
