Sorry, fell asleep last night before finishing my descriptive post for my last attack. Should I still post something up, even though it's out of order now?
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
You don't need to use up an action to take aim. You just need to not move.
There are basic actions (that use up your turn) and simple actions, which you can do at any time as long as it makes sense. Basic actions would be attacking, bolstering, and trying to move a distance further than you can move with a simple action. Simple actions are drawing your sword, reloading, things like that.
Movement is special because while it's a simple action, you only get one. So just don't move and your attack is fine. Unless you want this action to be a bolster to get advantage, and then spend advantage on your next.
Oh, okay, let's see. I think I'll attack Zuo with my poison breath. I'm not sure what roll that should be, though. I think it could be a ranged weapon, although I haven't listed it as such, and I think ranged weapons are usually finesse.

Speaking of more traits, I've got a complete Transformation theme and am working on a Serpent theme. You guys want to look at those, see if you want them?
Hello everyone! /u/Sage_Mountain (who I assume is kingCrackers) invited me to join your game! I'm an rpg vet but I only learned about tavern tales today (and read the rules cover to cover this morning!). I'm really excited to get in on this! Also I hope this is the right place for this. I figured out of character for discussion, but it looks like you're in the middle of a combat!
I read the first page of this thread, maybe somebody could catch me up? I didn't read everything because it seems as though that would take quite a while (I have no problem doing it if it's not easy to sum up!).
For a character concept, I was thinking about a friendly jolly lovable human spellcaster of some kind who is the perfect devoted utilitarian (maybe taking the hint that "the enlightened one" isn't divine far enough to say that he's just a story that makes the utilitarian message clear). I was thinking for the sake of making things interesting he might have no problem trying things that seem totally evil to most people for good; maybe envisioning a perfect undead workforce to allow townsfolk to peruse technical, academic, or artistic endeavors! I also definitely want him to have a soft spot for animals (maybe a pet dog? I know that cant have a mechanical impact until the beast theme comes out!)
I haven't fleshed it out fully but I'd love any input on that!
Long story short, a jetpack prince (Kraken/Sage), a lioness that punches (lols), a jiangshi (Phantom) and a roguish minotaur (this guy) walk into a bar. Twelve hours later, everyone wakes up with hangovers, hookers and amnesia, and the whole town's trying to kick our butts. Especially the door guards. Especially the one we're fighting because we just took out his partner (question to Kraken, is Yu dead or just unconscious? Might need it for roleplaying reasons)
Character concept seems fine. A bit simple, but nothing some good roleplaying can't fix.
On the one hand, someone needs to do something or we'll be stuck with this headless knucklehead forever. On the other hand, the next time Zuo gets a turn, chances are that I die horribly.

I take one turn to aim, so 1d6 -> 1d8, with rage bonus that increases to 1d10. Will roll damage on my next turn.

Rolled a 3, that's awful damage. My rage is probably running out soon too.
