Reskinning traits is allowed, even encouraged. What does reskinning mean? It means you take a trait, and then change its flavor, its fiction to fit your character.
For example, say you want to fly, but you don't want to be a dragon for it. Simple enough; change it to a jetpack.
Jetpack (Dragon: Flight)
You have safe fall 10.
When you gain this trait, work with your GM to establish a milestone at which point you become a terror of the skies. Before reaching that point, you can glide. After reaching that point, you can fly. Greatly decrease the damage of attacks you make while gliding or flying via this trait.
Now you can fly and you don't have to be draconic.

We've got two players so far; Yarrun and Captive Phantom.
You start at level three: that means one each trait in Combat, Exploration, and Interaction.
This game is a one-shot, and we'll see where we go from there. Your mission is to help Gu Long Wang on his Rambling, a coming of age quest that proves that he is ready to be a Prince of the Realm.

Yarrun: Looks great! Oxhead and Horseface have always been my favorites. I'm assuming you're a sleeker, more lightly-built ox than the big muscle pain-train?
Mind putting ability modifiers for ease of reference? Just subtract 10 from each ability and you get your modifier.
By the way, the natural weapon rule states that if you just use that without say, shields, then you have +2, not +1. The same goes for one-handed weapons; if your other hand is empty, it's +2 and not +1.

Alright, as you wish.
Setting: Jack Kirby's New Gods plus Battling Boy plus Kill Six Billion Demons plus Eastern myth.
Long ago, everyone in the Cosmos battled the Monsters. None ever found out from whence these fiends came, only that their attack patterns, movements, and behavior were absolutely random. Each was unlike the other. It was chaos.
Through the starry heavens, beneath the deepest seas, upon the mountains high, through every city on every world. Nowhere was safe. No place was not turned into a battleground, or a fortress, or an armory, or a grave. The Cosmic War raged for eons, and worlds bloomed, burned, sat still, died and rotted. Such machines they built, to tear through Monster ranks; Apollyon Cannons, which scorched with the fire of the sun, Birthing Revolvers that fired fully-grown super-soldiers with every pull of the trigger, Swords of Creation to cleave mountains, even titanic Hunters to break the backs of giants.
And then it ended. The monsters stopped flooding everywhere. Slowly, piece by piece, the peoples of the Cosmos reclaimed their territories. And nobody knows why.
The Old Gods are dead. The Old Beasts are dead. Mortals today are totally unlike the men of old. The monsters are scattered, leaderless. Still they plague the cosmos, with whatever dregs of power they have held on to.
This is the world you live in. And with luck, you might survive.
The Gods: The first line against the Monsters. Mighty, powerful beings that rule in a thousand places, possessing great will and great strength, bearers of miraculous machines, the Gods use their celestial charts to monitor Monster activity and stave against immortal boredom. In nine shining rocket-provinces they do reside, hurling through space. Tian! Diyu! Kunlun! Sumeru! Aurora! Ex Nihilo! Finias! Yisun! Eclipse! From the Orrery of Worlds they step out and into new planets, to seek out danger, adventure, and glory. But for all their power, for all their pride, for every scarred and bleeding land they claim in their name, they die in droves.
The Beasts: The last defense against the Monsters. Creatures of the forests and seas and jungles, the thinking animals. Wehr (wolves), Wu (ravens), Matsya (fish), Naga (serpents), Bagh (tigers), Niu (oxen), Zhu (pigs), Vanara (monkeys), these are but a few species of the Beasts. The Beasts are the most diverse tribes in the cosmos. Some are subjugated as servants of the gods, while others serve willingly. Some do not serve at all, but pledge their allegiance to their own clans and families. But for all their numbers, for their feathers and claws and shells and venom and fury, they fear, and there is naught that can quell the terror.
The Mortals: Men, and creatures very much like men. Somewhere between the highness of the Gods and the lowness of the Beasts, Mortals live in relative harmony and peace. But even in the post-Cosmic War, none are truly safe, as monsters still lurk everywhere, sleeping. Mortals have no talons or poison, nor miraculous machines and strength, and for that, they are seen as weak. But what Mortals have in an abundance is a willingness to cheat. They can set aside honor, if it means victory. They steal fangs and fins from the Beasts. They loot the bodies of the Gods. They have even developed Arcanoi and mysticism to cheat the very Cosmos itself. And because of their amorality, it is Mortals who fall in with the Monsters the most, with promises of all they desire.
Other: The world is full of things beyond even the maps of the Gods and the eyes of Man. Ethereals and Abstracts, Sage-Kings, Black Emperors, Demiurges, Prime Angels, reformed Monsters, even Fell Knights from other universes, the Cosmos has many who do not fit into the natural order.

Any one you want. We could leave it as Diyu, and have it as a dual monarchy. Or it's a mega-city, and each district is the size of another city, with its own ruler.
Okay, I'm not used to linking to google docs, so tell me if this doesn't work, but here's what I've got for my character. I still have a bit left to work out (such as character motivation and weapons), but this should work for now.
Seems to me he'd be classified as an Other. And Kraken, I'll probably message you a bit later to talk out what his Iconic Death Condition (mentioned in Reanimate) is.

Charisma is the social ability, of influence. The adventuring equipment page suggests rods and orbs for charisma-based weapons. I guess a Kirby-esque blasting scepter isn't too out there.

I changed the name of the thread, because I also want to post stuff about the changes to the game.
Do keep in mind that if we don't like a change, we can just not use it. It says so right here. So if you don't want to change things, speak up.
Anyway apparently how the abilities are defined may change. Linky. I like these abilities more than I like the traditional six stats. They're more interesting, and they can be connected to any of the three levels of the game, if you're creative.

Okay so we might have the game start either tomorrow, or next week. Depending on China's censors, because I'm going to Shanghai tomorrow.
First up, the new stats. I'd like for everyone to set their weapon stats to +1 or +2, because now the stats are really abstract and I'm not sure how everything works.
Secondly, everyone starts with 40 health. If you think a trait that you have should give you more health, let me know and we'll work it out.
