For some reason I started picturing the cast of MLP doing a draft.

How I imagine it, Fluttershy is drafting as many creatures as she can, Applejack's trying to pick out the simple cards so she doesn't get confused by the rules text. Rarity is barely interested in the game aspect of it and occupies herself by rare-drafting and looking at the art, Rainbow Dash and Twilight are taking it pretty seriously. Rainbow is leaning towards aggro and Twilight towards control. Pinkie is being a total lucksack and putting together a convoluted combo deck, and Twilight is next to her and wracking her brain trying to read the signals.

Oh, and are we assuming that Rainbow Dash gets over the initial thoughts of "Oh my god this game is for eggheads"?

And is Fluttershy picking a specific color (like all green, for example, that sounds pretty Flutty), or is she just drafting every creature ever?

That too. I figure this is between board games and reading books. She did the former and now she's okay with the latter.

I think she might prioritize the ones that look cute and helpless, so she probably has a very low mana curve. How far she is in green might depend on the set, but I don't think she'd discriminate much, though she might try to be more careful about her colors so she can actually cast her critters. She probably doesn't care much at all about losing, and it's nearly impossible to convince her to chump block. The M12 "dies" language update doesn't help matters.

I'd imagine one could get Rainbow Dash to do just about anything if one appealed to her competitive side. That's basically 50% of the plot to Ranma 1/2.

At least the cannibals are comprehensible. Spirits are often inscrutable, they can get in anywhere, they're harder to detect coming than the other monsters...

Think I'm gonna go to a GPT in a few days. Didn't do so well the last time I tried a couple of years ago, but I think I was a bit demoralized from opening the world's greatest sealed pool (Sun Titan -and- Royal Assassin, with a crazy solid base to back it up) and having to give it away. Also I splashed red for some reason even though I knew it was a bad idea.
