Like I said on my blog, even if it turns out to be a hoax, I'll still have enjoyed it because its silly responses are just too fun to read.

i like how the first two examples of hate were aimed at a totally generic webcomic and were definitely not inspired by anything anybody ever tweeted at zenpencils no siree this is most certainly not some shitty revenge daydream thing
In all seriousness, I'm not sure what's going on here (though the #hate monster looks like someone mushed Akira and Ghostbusters 2 together)...who is this guy, and why would people be criticising him so harshly?
Dude does a web-comic that illustrates "inspirational" quotes. From what I have read, the general consensus is that he started off reasonably thoughtful and went off the deep end into shrill pretension at an accelerating rate. The fact that he seems to have gotten more and more into Ayn Rand-inflected "individualism" does not help matters.
I remember seeing one or two strips of his that I thought had good source material, but the stopped clock fallacy is definitely in effect after a certain point. This latest strip is only the logical progression, if extreme.
I more mean that "a lot of good people WERE MURDERED" is a really old trick in the "I like saying humanity sucks because it makes me feel better about myself" book.
You know, I can't help but feel that the whole "they assassinate people for talking about peace" thing isn't actually true. I mean, someone tried to shoot Ronald Reagan.

this is incredible
we need an IRIS thread.
Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead
i mean there were a ton of attempts on Fidel Castro's life that weren't successful
ditto Hitler, for that matter
but i do think it's kind of harsh to assume the author of a creative work is just trying to elevate him/herself over other people
that's like the number one annoying ad hominem conservatives direct at people on the left for caring about other people
'oh you're just saying that so you can feel better about yourselves'
oh you're just donating money to feel better about yourself
oh you're just raising awareness so other people will think better of you
idk ignore me, i'm drunk
Meta Four, even.
Douglas Adams made a similar joke at the start of H2G2

this works entirely too well
