Actually the Snakemen are more vulnerable to Pyromancy and Magic than physical damage, so it might be viable until you can get the Man Serpent Greatsword to drop. Remember to use Combustion.
By the way, look up how to get the Gold Serpent Ring. It's really non-intuitive, but it's a great ring.
In the boulder redirection room, there's four possible boulder paths. Let's say the safest path (where the boulder is safely thrown to the cliff) is the "North", the "South" being the path with the sleeping Serpent Soldier.
You need to redirect the boulder to the "West".
Let several boulders roll down the path. Six will suffice.
Redirect the boulder to other direction, so you can walk the path safely.
The boulders should have stacked up in a hole and one should have broken the wall ahead. Behind the broken wall is a corpse containing the ring.
also I never rung the bell in Blighttown. I should probably go find the bell and do that.
Remember that big white mass in the Blighttown Swamp?
Go in there, don't kill anything that doesn't attack you first, and kill a boss.
I don't actually know what you mean, since the first time I ran through that area I did so literally while dodging those beholder-spider things. I didn't look around much although I did notice what looked like ogres off in the distance.

in my other game I was invaded by a guy who was clearly noob-sniping so I just deliberately rolled off a ledge.

My people have a similar saying about Street Fighter.
If you're not going to win, then do as much damage as possible to decrease the opponent's rank. Or just taunt and block and force them to win through chip damage.
That's the stat that affects how hard it is to break your guard, right?
Sort of.
Every armor has a poise stat, from 0 to whatever. Whenever you get hit by an enemy, it does poise damage in addition to regular damage. Poise works like bleed or poison, in that it's a slowly draining meter that only activates when it's full. When you get your poise broken, you stagger and whatever action you're taking gets interrupted. Poise is arguably more important than regular damage reduction, because the ability to get an estus swig or attack in when you otherwise wouldn't is invaluable.
A good set for a fair amount of Poise is the Elite Knight set, which is in Darkroot near the stone knights. The Gargoyle Helm you're wearing is also a good light helmet with good poise.
also I talked to that...well he called himself The Primordial Serpent but honestly he looks more like some kind of weird dog-man-llama thing. Interesting stuff.
You won't find another Firekeeper Soul for a while, so I'd look up where to find the one in Blighttown, grab it, and use it when next you see a Firekeeper.
also I got a divine ember. I could theoretically make a divine weapon but I don't know if this is smart or not (my options seem to be another battleaxe identical to my magic one, a butcher knife, and a club).

But you can just degrade it to +5 at any bonfire, and you'll be coming up on a good STR weapon at Sen's Fortress, dropped by the snakemen.
what the fuck
It's a weird event flag.

Just fight the spider things, they're wimps.
Also, how does one acquire the big-brimmed witch hat
I want it because of reasons.

Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead
which I fell off of and died just now. After beating Maneater Mildred no less.

also, should I bother getting that now, in that case? I still can't find the boss and I'm kind of just dicking around in lower Blighttown.
Guy seemed pretty experienced so I hope I didn't bug him with my noobishness, I didn't just let him beat Quelaag for me though.
E is where the entrance is.
W. is where the wheel is.
what the actual fuck.
Did you talk to Peter Frampton yet
When you get there, you can use the Black Eye Orb you got from her corpse to hunt down Lautrec, get her soul back and restore her to life.
So
no.
I am in Darkroot and I got the armor. I can't find Beatrice though.

Use the club, it's good for what she's talking about.
I do have to reinforce this to a +10 before I make it Divine right? I didn't just fuck it up? (also this thing has the best attack animation ever)
also why do I want the Man-Serpent Greatsword? It's kind of bad as far as I can tell.
Unless I just need to reinforce it a bunch. But I don't have the souls for that right now, nor the strength to wield it one-handed.
It scales well with strength, has a decent moveset, and yeah that's about it.
