also, anyone who's looking to get into the game but doesn't know if they want to buy it should check out the two level demo on Newgrounds. It's for the vanilla game (without the Wrath of the Lamb expansion), but it's a good indicator of whether or not you'll enjoy Isaac.

I just played the demo and got to the second level and then died. The keyboard controls are a little difficult to get used to so I hope I can use a controller? There are many references to the original Zelda, like the title screen, and the sound effects, and the HUD and dungeon rooms, and the shops, and the hearts and keys and bombs, but it is a roguelike it seems? Also the original Zelda was not nearly so bloody and grotesque and full of bodily fluids. :p This game is interesting.

they do take a while to get used to yeah, but even i got the hang of it after a few runs!

not unless you have JoyToKey.

You can also use the mouse to shoot but that's useless unless you have the Epic Fetus item.

means that Daddy Long Legs' shadow follows you and his feet will stomp
on nearby enemies. Remembering that Isaac's own mother is out to get

I have officially beaten the entire game.
Not sure if I really want to go for Platinum God or not.

there is the occasional (possibly red herring) implication that Isaac's father is the Triachnid from Triachnid. Which would be weird to say the least.
