I don't get it. The whole reason for changing it was that modern computers boot up too fast for you to actually have the time to press F8 before it's too far into the boot sequence. Do people just not think about that before they go all "MICROSOFT HATES ITS USERS" or what?

I don't even know what the point of "safe mode" is
If you can't do that, you gotta have a Windows installation DVD or USB (thankfully official ISOs are easy to obtain). The idea is that it loads the minimum amount of software for basic functionality. That's why the resolution gets screwy sometimes...it loads a generic video driver instead of the one for your card.
1. Partition your hard-drive.
2. Install Mac OS X.
3. Run Mac OS X.
I don't know why anyone bothers; surely the money you saved by not buying an actual Mac can't be worth THAT much frustration
I would have just said "buy a Mac," but that doesn't afford me an appropriate buildup. Yes, you want the real McCoy. Anything else is probably going to be some level of pain in the neck.
That makes a surprising amount of sense for a couple of reasons.
My mission is complete.
So give me this one thing I can be mildly smug about.
Clearly we should all run ALTIMIT.
Aren't more viruses to attack Linux machines than there are those aimed at Macs, though? I was talking about security here.
