I meant more the "competitive good casual players rot in hell hark0rr 4ever" mentality but that works too.
i don't really like competing more seriously just for the sake of competing, but my fave part of pokemon when i was younger was battling with my friends, and we were really quite strategically minded about the whole thing.

So did I, I dunno I just don't like that approach to the mainline game, I guess, and I often feel as though I'm expected to be ashamed of that.
though some of their suggested movesets and stuff can be kinda shitty yeah, and they often lack creativity and miss the big picture with putting together teams and whatnot
Are you playing in OU? OU is utterly devoid of creativity, trust me. Weather teams are EVERYWHERE, and I keep on seeing the same sets on different teams. The lower tiers are much better.

Dude.
That is the hugest, most generalizing statement I have read about competitive players.
I was talking about that site in particular, though.
Speaking as someone who has been on Smogon...it isn't like that. It really isn't.
The stereotype of competitive battlers acting condescending towards casual players is just that: a stereotype. Oh, I've certainly seen examples of it on the site. However, in most cases I've seen said condescending jerks were regarded as arrogant and stereotypical or otherwise moderated out. I agree with you that the arrogant competitive attitude is there, it's just nowhere near as widespread as you say it is and most of the userbase is actively trying to fight it.
In my experience, most of the competitive sites I've been to (Smogon included) have been very civil and receptive towards casual players. There were certainly a few people that were dicks, but I feel that it's unfair to hold that against the userbase as a whole.

Representative or not, it's sufficiently prevalent that it put me off discussions of games with large competitive scenes, like Pokémon and the Super Smash Bros series.
Or maybe it's just a minority who are really obnoxious about it, but they can be weirdly aggressive towards people who are playing 'wrong'.
We're actively fighting against that stereotype. Hell, many competitive players I know also play casually. I myself am a competitive player who plays casually. I don't even EV train or breed for IVs: too tedious.

I met somebody like that, who used the classic Action Replay to 31 out their pretty little olympian pokemon and auto-train their EVs. He attempted to sell me these masterfully trained pokemon for $5.00 each.
Well besides Arceus there are also other Pokemon which could be potential WMDs.
Rayquaza has absolute control over the atmosphere. It can potentially punch holes in it or remove it entirely, killing everyone.
Dialga can simply whittle away at the Earth's lifespan until it's primordial dust.
Palkia can force the Earth out of its orbit, and that's just scratching the surface. There's no limit to what it can do with its space powers.
Kyurem canonically almost froze the entire world. It only stopped because the protag stopped the crazy old man that was controlling it.
If we're talking non-legendaries, Gyarados and Tyranitar are explicitly stated in-canon to bring mass destruction wherever they go. Tyranitar regularly rearranges mountains, in fact.
And of course there's Blissey, whose fat ass can just squish everyone.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."

When I dicked around with a ROM of Emerald once, I ended up changing every Elite Four's pokemons into Level 100 Rayquazas.

I have an idea that Groudon would seriously decimate human environments on a massive scale.

It could be that GF is introducing a Light type, but the obvious name for it is already taken.
I get all my news from tumblr ok.
Actually re-reading the post, the rumored typings and names seem to be what were fake.
I've OHKOed legendaries with Mienfoo. It's so cute I don't want to evolve it.
You breed a Female Eevee with a Male Suicune (shut up it works somehow). Bam, Female Ribbon Ass Eevee
Then you breed a Female Skitty with a Male Milotic. Bam, Male FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABULOUS Skitty
Then you breed Ribbon Ass with FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABULOUS!
Bam, you have a Ninfia
