also, once the tree has gone off once, it has a toughness of like 30-40, which isn't exactly going to be a brutal whap upside the head the way the first activation would be
Oh, I didn't know Khans of Tarkir added a 'defenders can attack 'card.
I'll have to add that to the Doran deck
^ Doran is generally a lot nastier than you'd think, just because of how cheap 0/+X cards are. It's not uncommon for me to play Doran on turn 3, Slagwurm Armor and something else on turn 4, and kill someone by turn 6
Okay, I haven't really been keeping up on the last few sets, so
What's legal in standard that would be useful for donating?
You know, I'm not sure either. I bet there'll be some ridiculous combo in EMN, but either way this feels like a card created for eternal formats. (Maybe someone in R&D just really wanted more material for their Zedruu deck.)

quoth the gatherer: "It doesn’t matter who has chosen any particular mode. For example, say you control Demonic Pact and have chosen the first two modes. If an opponent gains control of Demonic Pact, that player can choose only the third or fourth mode."
You know, I didn't notice at first that Delver 3.0 makes Human Wizard tokens. Looking back at SoI I see that there were some Human Soldiers and Human Clerics there and I'd just never quite noticed that either.
I assume this is probably just because the Human creature type is significant on Innistrad but it would be great if this were to mean token creature types have finally entered the 20th century.
(I bet Maro already answered a question about this on tumblr somewhere.)
My first thought was that it was just because that's Delver's typeline, yeah. But like I said, Human <class> tokens seem to actually be standard in SoI block.
Also re Docent of Perfection, given that there are a bunch of DFCs in this set with type "Eldrazi Horror" on the back I find it funny that this one actually loses the type Horror when it flips.
