I do like that they've added the word "base" to effects like this, it'll probably make it easier to explain to people how stuff like +1/+1 counters work in these situations.
People have been getting excited about that, Prototype Portal and a sac outlet. I just like that the infinite turn hoser is itself a pretty good infinite turn engine, but it makes you work for it because if you don't do it right then it hoses itself.
Fun thing: There was actually a point in time where Shahrazad wasn't banned in EDH. Presumably this was changed after a string of mysterious and bloody murders.
They're not so much for the players as they are for the designers. Rosewater and the rest of 'em use the personalities to determine what kind of audience(s) a certain card caters to, and why, thus simplifying the card approval process. Probably.
The big cards with flashy effects appeal to Timmy. The weird cards with odd effects (e.g One With Nothing) appeal to Johnny. The small cards with efficient effects appeal to Spike.
Unbreathing Horde's total mental capacity is about the same as that of a single zombie. They're as powerful as a standard zombie horde, but they can only function as a horde. You can't have each zombie attack a different target and whatnot
so if I were to be a big nerd and make a planeswalker whose "thing" is that she uses gambling magic to manipulate the deck, what color, hypothetically, would this person be
Blue seems like the obvious choice because of deck manipulation but gambling does not strike me as super blue.
well, yes, but prior experience with other games has told me that just throwing together things with vaguely similar qualities is not a good way to make a deck.
also, deckbuilding stuff, my B/W Exalted has the following cards in it so far (4 each for most currently but that's just because it's more convenient to remove cards than add more of them in Cockatrice)
I think a sort of swarm strategy would work pretty well here and I'm looking largely for spells to either protect my creatures while they're still weak or just get more stuff on the field.

I can get a few games in now, but not for much longer.
I could play one real quick, but in about 20 minutes I have to help my little brothers do schoolwork.
careful with ardent plea. It's possible to splash in some blue for it, but you'd need more blue to make it worth it, and I'm not the best person to ask about three-color 60-cards.
Everything else seems alright, for beginners. Cut down some of the more expensive cards "Battlegrace, Sublime, etc." to 2 each, and use the extra space to throw in some removal. All it takes is one flying wall for your deck to stall in its tracks. Be prepared to Unmake or Pacify anything that gets in your way. And something like Zealous Persecution to get rid of chump blockers.

it's possible to have, by way of tokens, a very literal horde of zombies on the field
yet, the card Unbreathing Horde is intended to represent a horde of zombies, just as one creature
if you have Unbreathing Horde within the first kind of horde, do you have two hordes of zombies, or just one?

Knight of the White Orchid seems like it might merit actual inclusion though.
