I want to play that in EDH for fun, except I'm pretty sure people would just use that to get around my defenses and kill me, before resuming the game as it was.
Squallmonger could be pretty funny (and apaprently it is indeed in one of the Commander decks), though. (Also I'm amused it's still just a "monger".)
It would be pretty awesome if you were running an artifact heavy deck as artifact creatures are predominantly colourless but then I guess you're general would have to have white in it's casting cost in order to even use the card.
When it resolves, you gain life and that triggers Bond,
When it resolves, the opponent loses life, and that triggers Blood again.
This continues until a resolution of Bond causes the opponent to have zero or less life. If the opponent has a Platinum Angel or similar ability protecting him, this continues indefinitely and ends the game in a draw.
I'm not a judge, but it seems easy enough for me to understand.
Essentially, if you have both enchantments on the field, any direct damage spell becomes "Target opponent loses the game; You gain life equal to his or her life total". Only thing that can stop it would be Platinum Angel and her Demon equivalent (which, as stated, would result in a draw), Platinum Emperion, and an identical set of enchantments on the opponent's field (which would also result in a draw)
I love the design team for doing this. They knew darn well that this was going to make combo players go absolutely nuts and they did it anyways.
Nah. I just thought of it while writing the other post.
The idea has greatly increased Quicken's appeal for me, though. Wouldn't do much in my RL B/G infect deck (the thing runs on instants, cheap creatures and the hatred of my opponents) but the sheer combo appeal would make it a keeper in any other blue deck.

Well, if there's only one opponent, the lifegain doesn't matter. If there's more than one, the thing to do is change your targets for the life loss. You should be able to kill all of the opponents, since you gain life on the killing blow of the first one.

So. It has come to this.
So what would happen exactly?
your opponent loses infinite life, you gain infinite life?

Why was this unbanned, again?
