Dark Ascension's up. I already made an oreo aggro token deck with fateful hour and Phyrexian Unlife + Melira to keep me alive and kicking ass while on low health.

I think I'd have to go to England and kidnap one...
Then again, I'm not in the habit of leaving out porridge and honey...maybe our pun brownie will start making delicious baked goods in the evening if I start...
It'd probably notice more if I gave two shits about banding.
you should prepare for the incoming Haven storm, Idler
Hmm, going through every EDH deck and seeing what I should add and whatnot. So far, I think Teysa has become somewhat more dangerous. I really wish her second ability would allow me to sacrifice black creatures rather than just getting the token. Ah well.
The perception of Modern being a ban-heavy format isn't... entirely inaccurate just given the number of bans in the amount of time it's been around. But it is a new format, and I understand they have a policy of being more liberal with bans in the early stages just to be safe. I think Legacy was similar.
The official ones are limited, which includes Draft and Sealed, and constructed, which includes rotating and non-rotating formats. The rotating formats are Standard and Extended, the non-rotating ones are Modern, Vintage, Legacy, and Block Constructed. There are also unofficial ones for casual play that are sometimes supported by Wizards, like Commander and Planeschase.
Two-Headed Giant is a two-player team variant that can be applied to any of the official formats, but in practice I think it's rare, and I don't think it exists at all in the more competitive end of things.
Hm, I think I got that right. I always say to myself that I shouldn't be doing this kind of thing from memory.
The Vintage format, formerly known as Type 1, allows cards from all sets that are legal for constructed play. Vintage maintains a small banned list and a larger restricted list. Unlike in the other formats, the DCI does not ban cards in Vintage for power level reasons. Rather, banned cards in Vintage are those that involve ante, manual dexterity (e.g. – Chaos Orb), or subgames (e.g. – Shahrazad). Cards that raise power level concerns are instead restricted to one per deck.[4] Vintage is currently the only format in which cards are restricted. Because of the expense in acquiring the old cards to play competitive Vintage, many Vintage tournaments are unsanctioned and permit players to use a certain number of proxy cards. These are treated as stand-ins of existing cards and are not normally permitted in tournaments sanctioned by the DCI.[4]
That wasn't nearly as dramatic as the Innistrad prerelease, but I did get a Vault of the Archangel. Maybe I should've gone white-black even though my pool wasn't as good; probably would've been more fun because cats and zombies.
I think I was kinda out of it the whole time; maybe I should've gone tomorrow. Which is to say in eight hours from now.
Soul Seizer is as amusing as advertised though. How did it possess a doll?
I'm skipping the prerelease this time around. It looks like an awesome set, but I've been cooling down on Magic lately so I can focus on school a little more. I can procrastinate fine enough already without walking in the cold, spending money, and dedicating several hours at a time.
Also this set doesn't have many cards I want to use for anything I've been working on for constructed.
It seems to me that Dark Ascension hasn't really given birth to many new potential strategies so much as expanded on ones that already existed. But as a middle set, I guess that's its purpose.

The best part is that until recently, if you have a creature with "bands with other Legends", they couldn't actually band with other legends.
Oh whatever, ponylover.

At least I can still deckbuild.

Hm...theoretically you could play 4ThrummingStone32RelentlessRats.dec in Modern.
No one would see it coming, that's for sure.

Oh fuck nevermind I misread the last sentence.

This deck I just made is not all that useful (barring me drawing one specific card) but fuck it, lizardmen ftw.
I love this card's flavortext, by the way.
I like Increasing Vengeance, personally. Copying twice fuck yeah.
