I need to put together a very good argument to changing/removing/mass-fixing the Zettai page.

So:

1. The trope in question is too vague and becomes a catch-all for any moment in any series that this style is chosen over another thing.
2. It's use is more relevant to Useful Notes, and many of the examples can be purged.
3. Other clothing tropes do not have their own pages solely because they are not derived from a Japanese Phenomenon.

I think that's a good point above, that something like ZR is more like a note than a trope. Worth having a note about just to explain what the fuck it's about, but not much more than that. Most of the "examples" are imaginings after the fact.

Aside from that fact that nobody would seriously make that argument and sway people with it, all I would reply to it would be: "Japanese culture is no more relevant to our purposes (which is to describe various trends and motifs that appear in a regular basis in media) than American, British, German or Haitian media"

Back on Usenet, people used to get made fun of all the time because they'd say they were going to whatever ISP's abuse department and trying to get their accounts locked (something that, as I understand it, worked quite well on AOL as their TOS was pretty strict). This guy is hitting pretty much every logical fallacy there is, including several of the Geek Social Fallacies. Specifically, where does he get off thinking that everyone has to like him? There are people who don't like me, I'm sure, but on a board that isn't Usenet you have no right to complain about people banning you for not following the rules.

And then he spins off into a rather hackneyed, scattershot melange of right-wing talking points. What does this have to do with TV Tropes or BTL? This rant about how horrible gays and the mentally ill are belongs on some 1000-watt AM station in the middle of Iowa, not a supposedly high-brow, reasonable indictment of a site you think is being hypocritical. Stay on topic!

Also: If you have to go on YouTube insisting that you're so much better than some people you dislike, it probably means you're not any better than they are. Just a thought.
