1. Leanan comes into existence and makes friends with a ton of tropers, and making Aondeug fall in love with her.
2. Lockonlockon announces Leanan dies, and people go to console him and mourn her.
3. People try to contact her and find out more, looking around and finding unsettling clues to her existence, or for that matter, unexistence.
4. After people interrogate Lockonlockon, he admits that Leanan was fake and has a good laugh at a ton of other people's expense, which throws many people into rage.
5. Later on he admits what he did was wrong in an attempt to make up for what he did wrong.
This part pretty much never happened, and is a later addition by people who know Lock only from that incident.

He, to paraphrase, was roleplaying and panicked once he realized people were actually becoming attracted to this character. So he got rid of her in the simplest way possible. Upon realizing this made things a lot worse he promptly apologized.
There was no "point and laugh" phase. You can argue that what he did do is just as bad if you want to, but Lockon is not the type to go LOL I TROLL U.
Well she's apparently still in a coma, but that is comparatively better, I suppose.
I hope she recovers.
I'm just gonna leave that here

It's more of a "anti-intellectual" kind of thing.
I don't think he's a dick, I think he has a really short fuse.
Not that either is particularly desirable in a webmaster, just saying.
I said "Social misfits, some of whom have Aspergers." (so looking down their noses at 'spergs' on lesser sites is asinine) I did not say "They're all misfits with Aspergers."
I think the vague "don't be a dick" rule is really bad now. I think there needs to be an explicit set of rules as to why people are banned and the mod team needs to tell other people why X was banned
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
