I WANT EVERYTHING ABOUT MY PALACE OFF THE INTERNET
* Israel/Palestine geopolitics * #GamerGate/videogame journalism/sexism in gaming * copyright law and digital piracy * whether lolicon is pedophilia * the role of religion, faith, and religious practices in modern society and the internet * furries/otherkin/etc. (and somewhat related, bronies) * Ukraine/Russia geopolitics * western intervention in the Arab Spring movements (or whatever they are now) * in some parts of the internet, Chinese geopolitics with regards to the Tibet region, Taiwan, Japan, and (most recently) Hong Kong * [new!] Hillary Clinton * [new!] circumcision * [new!] cat declawing * [new!] fluoridation * [new!] tipping (as in, paying extra money to restaurant servers and delivery persons)
What people do with the money they steal from a Ponzi scheme: *irritated Phelous voice* They get drunk, have sex and party. :P
Seriously, of all the episodes of American Greed I've seen so far, I think the most popular thing to spend the ill-gotten gains on is either vacations, booze, strippers, bling, or any combination of those.
And of course, most of that money is gone as soon as it's spent. Money for food, drinks and services is not recoverable, and luxury goods depreciate really quickly.

with this very unpleasing sneezing and wheezing the calliope crashed to ground

I'm always weirded out at how quickly some people blow these huge sums of money

Also, in one of them the word they swapped out was "anti-Quinn", which is hilarious because it's a tacit admission that that is what #GamerGate is about.
knowing that people have posted those original tweets does not anger me much. the internet is a place filled with many dipshits, of which this is only a small sample.
but if those people posted those edited tweets, that fact would still not anger me much. the internet is a place filled with many dipshits, of which this is only a small sample.

probably "paraphernalia" when the emphasis is on the objects, especially the acquisition of such objects or the resources spent to acquire and retain such objects
and then "iconography" when the emphasis is on the meaning of said objects
it would make more sense to have "a lot of paraphernalia" than "a lot of iconography", unless maybe if you're a seller yourself
yeah i know "iconography" has an existing meaning in religion
it's just that fandoms regard these representations of the subjects of their adoration -- especially visual representations -- with such great attention, that they might as well be doing it religiously
some fandoms have even joked with the idea of religiosity as an analogy, such as haruhiism
