so MassAppeal has this Youtube series called Rhythm Roulette where they take a producer into a record shop, blindfold them, have them pick out three records at random, and make a beat out of samples from them.
It's really interesting. I'm watching Ski Beatz' right now.
He's gotten less intelligible as his career's gone on, used to be a pretty standard T-Pain style autotune singer.
He's a member of Dungeon Family, the same collective that OutKast, Goodie Mob, and Killer Mike are from (as well as lesser known members like Witchdoctor), so he definitely has credibility but I can't stand his music.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.

Off the top of my head:
Seconding EI-P and Killer Mike's solo stuff Talib Kweli Mos Def/Yasiin Bey Brandon Flowers' solo stuff (specifically Flamingo, I haven't heard his second solo album yet) Jurassic 5/Chli 2na's solo stuff Living Colour/Vernon Reid's solo albums and collaborations
My Brightest Diamond, Flogging Molly, The Pogues, Richard Swift (specifically his albums Walking Without Effort, The Novelist, and Dressed Up for the Letdown).
soooooo I was at the record store and I ran across a reissue box set thing of the first three OPN albums for 13 bucks so i guess i will give that a shot

Krallice are an atmospheric black metal band, right? They good? I kinda went on a binge of that kind of thing a while back but never got round to listening to them.
I guess they are kinda atmospheric? mostly there's an emphasis on really dense guitar work and repetitive riffs that enter this sort of hypnotic state and then quickly change then they settle again

(The other Jane)
I wonder if they'll sign to Merciful Release
I kinda miss the guitars, but the album itself is very well-crafted and worth a listen if you’re tolerant of synthpop-leaning music.
