Watched episode two. Still so good. Reminds me of Gurren Lagann a bit, but somehow less forced. Like it's using extreme garness without doing any nods or winks to the audience. It works incredibly well.

Given that a good chunk of the show's delightfully silly premise seems to be built on puns (the similarity between "fashion"/"Fascism" and "kill"/"cut"/"wear clothes" in Japanese) and weird leaps of logic (clothes as the forbidden fruit of the Tree of Knowledge), it's not much of a stretch, but Satsuki being the oldest and Nui the youngest does shake up that particular analogy.

I kind of feel like anything that involves ex-Gainax staff is sort of immune to reaching.

Hell, people are convinced that Mako is going to die next episode because some numbers that reflect off of her sunglasses in the Bancho Mako episode from season 1 can be read as "I DIE 21" if flipped a certain way.

And maybe they're right, I certainly hope not, but recall who we are dealing with here.

also there is still some serious disagreement about how many episodes are left. Some people say there are 25, some people say that episode 25 itself is a bonus short included on the Blu-Rays, some people say there's 26, and then some of those people agree with the people who say that 25 is a Blu-Ray exclusive.
