Controversial opinion, being from another country doesn't give it some special condition to where it can be described by a different word, even if differences in cultural values can have hilarious different effects on the medium.
Japanese movies aren't called Gaijins or anything like that.
Also, on reflection, Cartoon is a terrible word, Anime is at least in reference to the word animation. I will call animated as anime from this day forward.

Controversial opinion: The sayings that logic is "Cold" (usually to contrast to feelings/emotions which are commonly portrayed as warm) are built upon faulty pretensions that neglect to take into consideration factors which would render the notion false.
It's like the saying "No one could survive in space" which doesn't even take into account advances in technology which allowed for the existence of living beings in space.

anime stands for animation, so pretty much everything in the west called a "cartoon" is also an Anime.
